Case Study: Advertus Media

Advertus Media approached Rasa Design Studio to design an image around a logo that was inspired, but graphically awkward. The web site needed to show, with a powerful image, the idea of a business “standing out” amongst a crowd and… needed, itself, to stand out in a crowd of competing advertising firms.

The name of the firm, Advertus, evoked an almost Latin ageless quality: Timeless in the sense of ancient and hyper-modern juxtaposed. The idea of spheres floating over a featureless plane is almost as old as computer graphics, itself. Our twist on the concept, though, used what was, at the time, the most advanced in 3D graphic techniques.

Rasa Design Studio was at the forefront of Flash use before it was chic to use it, but we were also one of the first firms to push the “duel” non-Flash version of Flash sites. As Google grew in prominence, we tended to discourage Flash altogether. The Advertus Media site, of course, eventually evolved with the Internet, but the original feeling stayed with the site.

We keep this site in our portfolio more as an example of image creation than anything else.
