In a word, Google.

Google is the 900 pound gorilla. Develop a site that puts all those keywords in Google's face so that it can't help but index you in the Top 10 and you have half of your battle won. But, marketing to Google is only part of your entire set of objectives. You also have to cater to your visitors and turn the ones that DO come in into paying customers: You have to convert them.

What is CSS osCommerce?

Everyone who designs eCommerce sites knows about, uses, or used to use osCommerce from www.oscommerce.com.

It's a powerful, extensible PHP application with an enormous amount of community support. Nearly every imaginable mod, hack, or contribution has already been written and posted to the contributions section of their site for download.

Best of all, it's free. or... free until you spend hundreds of hours or pay thousands of dollars to modify even the most basic parts of the code into something resembling an attractive design. Even then, with the default osCommerce package, you're stuck with deep nested tables and very little or no Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

We rewrote osCommerce to be a tableless, CSS / XHTML application with several new SEO features built into the core structure.

• Tables stripped out and replaced with DIV, UL, LI, etc.

• Content and main navigation links at the upper part of the source, less important keyword info at the bottom of the source code. Google reads as hierarchical text.
